Tis the season to be…stingy.
Richard Douglas had organized a benefit to help raise money for the Crimestoppers reward that hopes to catch the person that murdered 5-year-old Allison Griffor. Police say Griffor was killed October 23 when bullets struck her in the head as she slept in her bed. No one has been arrested in connection with this case, which is what Douglas was attempting to raise money for.
But, the benefit, penned Angels for Allison, got a big punch to the stomach when all it earned was a measly two dollars.
“It hurts,” Douglas says of the failed attempt.
But, there’s been a little bit of justice for Allison’s death.
Douglas said Allison’s organs were donated and she was able to save the lives of three other children.
He said that the fund raiser was just the beginning and has plans to turnĀ Angles for AllisonĀ into a non-profit as a way to honor the little girl’s memory.
As for her family, Douglas said her parents are considering moving to either Florida or California.
