The Charleston County Sheriff’s Department has a broken glass bandit on their hands, and with few reports of theft, all they are left with is one big mess.
Charleston County Sheriff’s deputies say they responded to an alarm at Up in Smoke on Ashley River Road at around 2:30 in the morning November 22. Upon arrival, the front glass of the business was found to be broken out.
Deputies then responded to Carpet Baggers on Marginal Road, at 3 a.m. where the front glass was also found broke.
Another 30 minutes went by and another report. This time at the Savannah Highway Subway where a window was found broken.
Just down the street, deputies were dispatched to yet another alarm at Farmhouse Antiques at 3:50 a.m. where the front glass, too, was found broken out.
After that, they took matters into their own hands and began checking other businesses on Savannah Highway and found glass broken at three businesses, Riley’s Mexican Café, Lams Garden, and Tienda Senior Miguels, all located in the Food Lion Shopping Center at Highways 165 and 17.
Up in Smoke reported theft of incense, whereas the other locations reported minimal thefts to no thefts at all.
